Merry Christmas!!!!

Christmas morning 2007.

We stayed here in Maryland for the holidays.

This picture was taken after we were all done opening up our gifts and hanging out.

This year was a Princess theme for Kaley. I will not list everything she got but let's just say when we got to the Princess dress Grandma sent, we had to take an intermission for Kaley to go put it on. The rest of the time while we were opening gifts, Kaley was sitting there in her new Princess dress and just loving it.

I couldn't resist putting this picture on. It cracks me up because Kaley pulled out all of this stuff while she was in her bedroom- "going to bed." She then fell asleep right in the middle of the mess. It was like she was just too tired from all the playing to make it into her bed.

This is a picture of the Mall and the Washington Monument from the National Capital Building.

Kaley and I went to the National Botanical Garden.

It is located right across the street from the National Capital. Out front they set up a really neat model train display which is what you can see in the back.

The Washington D.C. Temple

We live about 15 minutes away from the temple.

The Washington Monument.

We only spent a little bit of time in town because we forgot the stroller.

We won't make that mistake again.

Kaley loved the Metro and kept asking to go back on the train.

This was Kaley and Janelle's first Metro ride (Jed was showing us the ropes). We live about 15 minutes away from a Metro stop so we drove our car there, hopped on the Metro and headed for "town."

August 2007

We had a very busy August....

Jed's family came to visit for Jed's graduation. While they were here we went to Sea World and Rock Springs. The following week- August 7th-we flew to Utah and drove up to Idaho Falls for Jed's sister- Raschel's- wedding. While we were with Jed's family we went camping, Jed's sister- Melynda- had their fourth child, visited friends and family, and attended a family reunion.

We then drove over to Boise to spend a week with Janelle's family. We went to McCall and spent a few days by the lake. We visited family and went shopping.

We then drove back to Idaho Falls and Jed's parents drove us back to Salt Lake to catch our flight on the 25th.

Once we got back to Orlando, the movers came and we moved to Maryland.

Jed got a post-doctoral position at the same place he did an internship a couple of years ago. We are planning on being here at least a year.

Maybe more.... we'll see.

Jed Walking!!!

This was a very exciting day for us. Jed graduated and although he doesn't like people to call him this- he is now Dr. Simmons. Jed's parents and his sister Samantha came to Orlando for the graduation. It was so nice to have them here with us. I only cried once or twice but mostly I was really excited for Jed- you can hear me yelling during the video. You can't tell this by the picture but it was a very hot day and we were just melting (Jed most especially in his robes)!

My Mom (Claudia) and my sister (Shelley) came to visit us in April.

We went and spent a week on the Gulf coast. We had a really great time.

We saw some dolphins, played in the sand, and chased birds on the sand.

Jed stayed at home and worked while the girls went and played.

Easter Morning in her "princess dress."

the roped off area behind them was full of eggs and candy.
Kaley had a lot of fun picking up the candy and seeing the Easter bunny.

This is Kaley before church. I think her ponytails lasted until we got into the car and then out they came. For the longest time we couldn't put anything on her head (because she didn't have hair) but now that she has some she doesn't like to have it up for long.
